About the Role

As a Software Engineer you will perform moderate research, design, and software development assignments. Working within a specific software functional area or product line, you'll be able to learn new technologies. Despite the product delivery is to serve the French legal industry, knowledge of French is not required.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a SCRUM squad team to develop a cutting-edge legal analytics product, get involved in – and contribute to - SCRUM ceremonies.
• Ensure technical consistency and overall code quality and maintainability, co-create technical components with the Architect of the product, be reliable and stand behind your code.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implement development processes, coding best practices and code reviews, keep abreast of new technology developments.
• Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews, resolve technical issues as necessary.
• Follow global RELX technical strategy.

Requirements

• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile), data manipulation languages, data modeling principles.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems and test-driven development.
• Basic knowledge of applicable development languages, technical stack including but not limited to: Cloud: AWS, Angular, .Net, JavaScript, Databases such as MS SQL.
• Basic oral and written communication skills and teaching
• Ability to take initiatives and you know how to work both independently and in a team.
