    Software Quality Engineer - Port Elizabeth

    As an Automated QA you will focus on client and server-side automated testing for Lexis Nexis Products.  We deliver relevant industry leading legal research tools that utilize web-based applications, machine learning and search engines.  Our teams strive to improve on perfection in every release and we’re looking for an Automated QA who shares the same passion for success.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4+ years of Automated Quality Assurance experience
    • BS Engineering/Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience required
    • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and contribute
    • Experience in Automated Testing software such as Selenium

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Basic proficiency in a development language and systems including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, Angular, C/C++, HTML, XML, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
    • Familiarity of industry best practices in automated testing. 
    • Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). 
    • Attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of Security Testing.
    • Knowledge of data storage systems. 
    • Knowledge of test-driven development. 
    • Ability to perform manual Quality Assurance.
    • Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies. 
    • Good English oral and written communications skills. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

    • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into test cases.
    • Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.
    • Ensure that testing addresses requirements as agreed with other stakeholders.
    • Successfully participate in development processes, test case creation best practices and test case reviews.
    • Perform automated and manual test case maintenance and fixes for existing web applications.
    • Work across teams to enhance quality assurance/testing and help to develop/execute performance and automation testing throughout the business as appropriate.
    • Provide guidance to peers.
    • Operate in an Agile development environment
    • Keep abreast of new technology developments.
    • All other duties as assigned.
