Solar PV Project Manager - OptiPower at Murray & Roberts

Key Performance Indicators:

• Establish project control plan & Procedures and Project Execution Plan for the projects
• Identify and develop project control team to manage the required tasks
• Develop Engineering, Procurement & Construction Registers
• Coordination & necessary follow ups with Engineering, procurement & Construction team for various project affairs
• Take lead in Project Risk Management plan, periodic reviews and mitigation plans
• Prepare delay analysis, time impact analysis, EOT as needed during the project tenure
• Single point coordination with client for all project control affairs
• Identify critical path/critical activities and escalate for timely actions
• Prepare presentations to various management meetings
• Participate in all internal/client/vendor progress meetings
• Ensure all client reports are submitted on timely manner
• Monitor subcontractor mobilization and performance to ensure the planned progress of works
• Monitoring and analysing the project progress, efficiency, consumption of mobilized resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage scheduled project meetings, milestone assessments, and contractor claims.
• Facilitate Solar PV Contractors in delivering successful projects throughout the entire project cycle.
• Site visits and quality inspections during feasibility and construction phases.
• Represent the company in contract negotiation and supplier due diligence.
• Manage projects as the Principal Agent working with client-appointed Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Structural Engineers.
• Ensure the design is executed in accordance with the contracts in place, with the project specifications and in compliance with construction good practices, local rules and standards.
• Detailed design interrogation, drawings, calculations, datasheets, procedure and documentation for the project provided.
• Develop lessons learned and return on experience.
• Track key deliverables.
• Contract Management - EPC tender design, coordination, management, evaluation and review.
• Monitor and report on PV projects through the construction and operational phases.
• Provide technical engineering support on PV projects at all stages of the Project Development cycle

Qualification:

• Technical qualification (B/Bsc Eng or B Tech) or PMP Certification.
• Eligible to register with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Registered with a certified Project Management Body e.g. Project Management Institute (PMI), The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPMP)

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 -5 years of experience working on Solar Projects within a Project Engineering or Management Capacity.
• Experience in Project Budgeting & Scheduling
• Experience in the Design of solar PV energy systems.
• Project contracts management
• Client liaising and relationship management
• Strong leadership skills.
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to drive and meet deadlines.
