Solution Architect (Java Backend) – 6 Month Contract at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect for a 6-month contract based in Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end application systems design, ensuring that solution architecture aligns with business strategy, technical standards, and optimal resource utilisation.
• This role requires strong Java backend development expertise combined with solid solution architecture experience in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee end-to-end application architecture solutions aligned to business and IT strategy
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions
• Ensure architectural integrity across systems, platforms, and integrations
• Balance functional requirements with technical constraints and resource optimisation
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams
• Evaluate and recommend modern architectural patterns, frameworks, and technologies
• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders including business analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years' experience in software development and solution architecture
• Strong background in Java backend development
• Hands-on experience with J2EE and/or Spring Boot (Advanced level)
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale systems
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and microservices architecture
• Experience working within financial services or large enterprise environments advantageous
