Purpose Statement

• Responsible for a producing a comprehensive technical specification that offers a technical viable solution and address the business requirements
• Design test plans and provide guidelines to facilitate performance and stress testing 
• Continuous business and industry research to guide the critical evaluation of architectural and design patterns & principles.

Experience
Junior Architect
Min:  

• At least 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience within systems development  

Ideal:

• At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in systems architecture / design

Architect 
Min: 

• At least 2 - 7 experience

Senior Architect
Min:

• At least 7 years’ experience in systems architecture / design
• Basic project management experience

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant post graduate degree

Knowledge

Must have detailed knowledge of:

• System architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
• Systems analysis and design
• UML or equivalent modelling language
• Technical Test Plan Design
• IT systems development processes
• Application development
• Standards and governance

Ideal:

• Detailed knowledge of:

1. Banking systems
2. Agile development life cycle

• Knowledge of UML
• Solid understanding of:

1. Capitec Bank’s systems environment
2. Capitec Bank business model
3. Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
4. Object Orientated Development environment (i.e. Java, Spring Framework, JBoss)
