Sourcing Analyst at MultiChoice Group

Purpose of the Position:

Assist team in category management and strategic sourcing initiatives. Provide an understanding of the supply base and category market, through systematic analysis.

Key Performance Objectives

Provide Business Analyst support across all spend categories

• Identify the right sources of information (market reports, internet sources) and set up the channels to get the right information to the right person
• Collect data on internal factors such as spend and customer requirement analysis
• Collect data on external factors such as industry and market dynamics, and products/services trends
• Conduct analysis on internal and external data
• Perform calculations on industry & supplier cost models and TCO models
• Perform supplier analysis including supplier financials and capabilities (products / services, quality levels) using available and defined sources of information
• Assist in the development of Request for information (RFI) or Supplier One-on-One Questionnaires to collect supplier information
• Analyse related responses and provide input for the supplier screening
• Assist in the development of Request for proposal (RFP) and develop consolidated overview of all supplier’s proposals, score supplier responses
• Prepare fact based negotiation packages which support Category managers and the category team in the negotiation process
• Support in defining supplier relationship management and performance management approach for categories
• Support in identifying opportunities and actions for continuous improvement by means of analyzing supplier performance and internal KPI data
• Collect data on supplier performance across categories
• Collect and consolidate data on contract compliance and assist category managers in introducing appropriate measures to increase compliance.
• Provide eSourcing support across categories
• Drive standardised processes and templates across the category management teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ideally advanced university qualifications, preferably in business administration, commerce, engineering or other relevant discipline.
• Recognized qualification in Procurement. CIPs qualifications are an advantage
• Required
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
• SAP/ERP system experience
• Proven analytical skill and ability is essential. Strong competencies in data cleaning, sorting, visualisation, analysis and modelling is required.
• Advanced Excel skills is a necessity. Experience in other advanced analytical tools/data science is an advantage Experience within procurement or intelligence, and/or a general understanding of the purchasing area is considered an asset, but is not a requirement.
• Experience with managing Preferential Procurement and Enterprise and Supplier Development.
