Spec: Solution Architect (Internal IT) at BCX

Core Description

To engage business to understand their requirements for new applications and amendments/ enhancements to existing applications, solutions, platforms. The primary role is to design solutions that meet the user requirement specifications in compliance to the IT Enterprise Architecture.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

• Align Business, Data, Application, Infrastructure and Security Architecture domains in the development of IT solutions.
• Develop IT solutions which encompass both functional and non-functional components across multiple elements of the enterprise.
• Align business requirements to proposed solution architectures.
• Document the design which reflects the extraction, structure and detailed analysis of the solution.
• Map or align the proposed business solution onto various frameworks including application, data, integration, process, security, legal, compliance, risk management etc.
• Conduct gap analysis including source to target mapping.
• Present the proposed solution design to peers, IT, Governance Forums, Business stakeholders and Executives for review and approvals.

Minimum Qualifications

• NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in Science or IT/Engineering
• OR NQF 4: Grade 12
• Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of IT experience. Experience in the Telecommunications, Data Centre industry sector would be beneficial. Experience in Agile methodology and a track record of participation in large scale successful data architecture implementations is required.
