Specialist: Business Analyst at Vodafone Global Enterprise

Role purpose:

• The Business Analyst helps to support and maximise the effectiveness of the Product Owner by analysing business requirements in terms of business and technical feasibility, cost, and impact and ensuring stakeholder approval.
• This role is responsible for ensuring the creation of user stories to an adequate level of granularity, and ensuring development aligns to business outcomes.
• This role is responsible for refining business requirements and strategic direction into concrete deliverables for the delivery team. Scoping and defining Minimal Viable Products (MVP) for delivery and contributing to the overall solution context.
• This role is responsible for providing support within the system development life cycle of an initiative that could vary from providing subject-matter expertise; testing resources; post-deployment support; and/or being business/technical liaisons.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Work with the Product Owner to define and prioritize the user stories aligned to the capability roadmap, providing a systems perspective
• Facilitate JAD and requirements gathering sessions
• Perform business analysis by assessing requirements in terms of feasibility, cost, and impact.
• Create and compile accurate user stories, derivation of business rules, acceptance criteria, and ensure stakeholder approval
• Ensure user stories are broken down to an adequate level of detail for execution by engineering and clarify with the team
• Accountable to deliver high quality systems analysis and design that focuses on delivering sustainable and robust solutions
• Documenting of non-functional requirements
• Facilitate engagement with stakeholders for communication and decision-making
• To manage the end-to-end delivery of initiatives through agile delivery processes, providing support that could vary from providing subject-matter expertise; testing resources; post-deployment support; and/or being business/technical liaisons

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Technical / professional qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field
• 3-5 years in business or system analysis experience preferably in a complex technical environment across the full software development lifecycle from MVP to full solution in iterations, including support transition
• Strong Information Technology skills

API Knowledge And Experience Preferred

• Using SQL tools to query and load data
• Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, BDD and ATDD
• Facilitate groups sessions that include senior stakeholders
• Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry strongly preferred

JIRA And Confluence Experience Preferred

• Good understanding of the business capability/user journey, wider organizational goals, and desired product business outcomes
• User story definition and refinement and team backlog management
• Agile ceremonies, tools. and artefacts, e.g., retrospectives, demos, increment planning, information radiators
• Backlog item estimation
• Agile software development environment and methods, e.g. Scrum, SAFe, TDD, BDD, and Kanban
• Business and systems analysis in a large digital environment
• User and technical acceptance test design, execution, and validation
• Customer experience design of digital products and services
• Understanding of fundamentals of software development processes and procedures, as well as supporting systems and architecture
• Flexible with planning, controlling the activities of the team and work estimation, able to continuously balance between the customer and commercial needs
• Strong understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business and technology trends
• Machine Learning and Big Data understanding
