Specialist : Business Support Systems at Vodacom

Role Purpose:

The incumbent will support the Business Support Systems (BSS) strategy, refine requirements for delivering the necessary technology services to business needs, provide technical leadership on projects and provide software-related application support. Responsibilities include analyzing, designing technical stories, developing code, documenting requirements and testing of deliverables against user requirements.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

• To design, develop and implement world-class services/products solutions in line with the business requirements.
• Conduct research on and keep abreast on the latest technology trends and provide architectural inputs for development of new products and services.
• To define, implement, integrate and document technical solutions for BSS Systems which are Voucher Management System, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Database technologies.
• Ensure that systems within Business Support Systems Conforms to CyberSecurity Guidelines.
• To carry out research on network impact analysis for various business requirements (i.e. new products/services) in conjunction with the various Engineering divisions.
• To lead the project team through the deployment process of BSS systems changes.
• Provide high level support prior to products/services implementation, during products/services implementation and post products/services implementation.
• Compile User Requirements Specifications document for new products/services and systems enhancements.
• Provide technical co-ordination of BSS initiatives, and facilitate of workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
   

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Matric (Essential).
• 3 year Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology (Essential).
• 3 years working experience in the Technology Industry.
• 3 years Relational Database and/or LDAP experience.
• Some development experience and working knowledge of Oracle fusion will be an added advantage.
• Must be prepared to travel.
• Work long hours when required.

• SQL, REST/SOAP and Json.
• LDAP and/or Relational Database Systems.
• Linux commands.
• Voucher Management System.
• Micro-services architecures.
