Specialist: Decision Support at Vodacom

Role Purpose/Business Unit

• Execute performance management, forecasting and reporting through coordination with appropriate business stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and delivery of results for MAST. Work closely with finance senior management to increase a company’s efficiency and profitability by assisting with the formulation of both the medium and long-term financial planning.

Your responsibilities will include

• Financial Planning: Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast including but not limited to the Long Range Plan, Annual Budgets and Rolling Forecasts for the full P&L and SOFP.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for stakeholders. Provide analysis, insights and controls over targets and actual performance measures and KPI’s 
• Operating expenditure management: Ensure accurate reporting of opex and guide the business towards the achievement of opex targets through budgetary controls and the delivery of opex productivity initiatives. Partner with the business in reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives 
• Month end close process: Support Finance Operations to ensure accurate reporting of MAST’s financial results and position 

The ideal candidate for this role will have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Post graduate qualification or finance professional qualification would be an advantage e.g. CIMA, CA(SA), MBA etc.

Job Knowledge: 

• Working knowledge of Accounting principles 
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• SAP ERP and HFM would be an advantage

• Ability to engage effectively with senior leadership team
• Manage external relationships with key stakeholders

Experience

• Minimum of  5+ years’ relevant experience of which at least 2 in a Finance Business Partnering role
• Technology and Telco experience would be an advantage
