Specialist: Finance at Rolls-Royce

As an APDP & Export Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting and relating internal controls around the APDP & Customs accounts, Export Receivables and other Plant related Balance Sheet Accounts and processes.

This includes

• Preparation of monthly reconciliations including ageing and analysis where necessary.
• Ensuring that the necessary Government Incentives are claimed and utilised within the legislative time frames.
• Regularly follow-up long outstanding and reconciling items to ensure that timeously cleared.
• Perform the export debtors function for the plant and follow-up on long outstanding receivables to ensure no bad debts occur.
• Regular reconciliation of export vehicles sales over & unders to ensure timely resolution.
• Provisioning of the monthly logistic costs accruals through a reconciliation of the accounts and supplier statements at month-end.
• Perform regular stock counts at the VDC to ensure accuracy of stock.
• Make the necessary provisions in the accounts in line with IFRS requirements.
• Remain up to date regarding IFRS requirements in area of responsibility.
• Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation and IFRS standards.
• Ensure the necessary Internal Control Systems are in place for process in area of responsibility.

In addition, you will be responsible for driving the digitisation of the tasks within the function in order to automate, optimise and enhance controls.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience

• BCom Accounting degree (Articles Preferable).
• 5 years accounting experience (including reconciliations).
• Proficient in SAP with at least 3 year’s experience.
• Proficient in excel and ability to work with large masses of data (incl. strong analytical skills).
• Up to date with IFRS requirements.
• Knowledge of the Income Tax and VAT Act.
• Knowledge of APDP and Customs requirements – can be developed in the role.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
