Specialist Projects - Hotazel Manganese Mines at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role is a permanent full-time position.
• As a Specialist Projects, you will be responsible to co-ordinate activities required to develop a sustainable solution to satisfy a desired business objective, and safely deliver this solution within approved scope, cost and schedule constraints.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Safe delivery of projects at Mamatwan within time, budget and to the required quality standard;
• Effective project management of projects. Provide schedules, cash flow forecast, quality management plans and risk assessments for the projects;
• Compiling scope of works documents, conducting tender meetings and liaising with stakeholders;
• Manage internal and external stakeholders is essential
• Complete assurance requirements and obtain tollgate approvals in accordance with the Capital Investment Standard and internal Project Governance Committee reviews;
• Store all Capital project documents in the relevant document management system;
• Apply the relevant change management processes where changes to the project scope, schedule or cost forecast are identified;
• Deliver project by application of the CPS; Use the CPS (capital portfolio system) tool to manage projects;
• Ensure lessons learnt are captured and disseminated;
• Deliver on all Capital projects in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). (Safety, Cost, Schedule, Quality).

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the mining environment and project environment;
• Experience in leading and managing contractors on site to deliver favorable outcomes is essential;
• Experience in delivering projects in a mining/processing environment is essential;
• Project experience in an underground environment will be considered an advantage for the Wessels position;
• Project experience in an opencast mine environment will be considered an advantage for the Mamatwan position.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Degree / BTECH/National Diploma in Engineering.
• Grade 12
