Role Purpose:
The Specialist: Record to Report RTR role is available within the Financial Operations business unit.
Your responsibilities will include:
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Financial month-end process Bad Debts and Debtors including:
- Bad Debt Write Off Processes
- Accounting entries
- Calculation of ECL provision in line with IFRS9
- Ensuring accurate recognition of Bad Debts provisions completeness and accuracy of the expense.
- Ensuring accurate accounting for prepayments and review of corresponding amortisations(Telkom DPS Sites)
- Review of journals
- Preparation of half-year- and year-end statutory packs for the Vodacom (PTY) Ltd.
- Keeping abreast of latest standards and ensuring alignment to the governance, SOX controls and accounting standards are adhered to. Proficiency in the accounting standards and liaison with the Finops IFRS team and internal audit when necessary.
- Providing comprehensive commentary for month-end results to be used during the WD3 and WD4 reviews with the FD, HoFo and Finance Executives
- Preparation of accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations in line with Vodafone requirements for accounts under your control and ensuring timeous clearance of reconciling and aged items.
- Fulfillment of finance operational tasks including:
- Ensuring correct and timeous allocations of cash receipts for Online Stores
- Liasing with Credit and Risk to ensure that debtors are not Past Due or has Credit Balances which is then highlight to upper management.
- Ad-hoc resolution of queries and issues from internal and external customers including internal and external auditors
- Review finance processes and identify gaps, documenting and implementing processes and changes where necessary
- Support Vodacom Business Partners with new projects or improvements to be implemented

- SAP knowledge is essential
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Finance within the ICT sector, specifically telecommunications
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- B.Com Degree (Accounting)
- B.Com Honours preferable
