    Sr Technical Research Specialist, Petrodata OSV Marine Team:

    The Role: Using a journalistic approach, you will have primary responsibility for collecting and reporting on offshore supply vessels activity in West Africa. This role calls for sourcing details regarding the assigned region and supply vessels and help maintain and update internal database. After about two years within the team, developing your contact networks and possibly attending industry event, you will be considered an expert in the assigned offshore sector.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collecting news and maintaining accurate data about offshore supply vessels in the assigned region (West Africa)
    • Reporting news, writing stories about the assigned offshore supply vessels
    • Updating and maintain data quality in company databases
    • Providing customer support when necessary
    • The position will also provide support for certain editorial and market research efforts
    • Analysis of data/news for contact conversation and potential contributions to forecasting reports
    • Attending industry events and developing contact network

    What We’re Looking For: This position requires a university degree (Associate’s or higher), and an experience as journalist or reporter. Equivalent work experience will be considered. The position requires someone fluent in English, comfortable placing calls and asking questions in order to seek contacts and build industry relationships. Preferred minimum of two years’ work experience and familiarity with the offshore oil and gas industry.

    Key Qualifications and Skills:

    • Investigator, curious, self-motivated, multi-tasker
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.
    • Attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines. Able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Working knowledge of common spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.
    • Solid grasp of global geography.
    • Enthusiasm and a genuine interest in the subject matter are extremely important.
