    St Stithians Online School | Mathematics Teaching Assisstant

We do this by providing students worldwide with a fully supported, global online high school experience, steeped in academic excellence and rooted in sustainable practices.     The role:

    • Facilitate student engagement in their live online lessons, breakout sessions and discussion forums.
    • Support teachers with marking and grading assignments.
    • Cultivate and nurture a culture of enthusiastic learning and peer support.
    • Support students in their educational development.
    • Boost learner confidence and motivate students to do their best.
    • Monitor, facilitate and enable student academic progress.
    • Support the teacher in promoting and modelling positive behaviour for learning so that effective teaching can take place.
    • Support teachers with data capturing; the collation and recording of assessment results.
    • Support teachers with recording individual lesson attendance.
    • Invigilate exam sessions.

    Once employed you’ll typically be placed on a company wide onboarding course, followed by a Faculty specific induction programme, as well as training related to your specific role. Ongoing, regular supervision, support and development will be provided.

    • Studying towards a Bachelor of Education or PGCE (SP & FET) in Mathematics, Science and/or English is preferable
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
    • Experienced and comfortable using technology
    • Experienced in working with secondary school aged young people
    • Adept at meeting deadlines
    • Competent at administrative tasks associated with the position
    • Ability to work in an agile environment where innovation, change and adaptation are part of the everyday
      • You will learn how to support students with a range of academic and socio-emotional needs.
      • Work on a variety of tasks effectively and efficiently managing those that are time sensitive.
      • The role of Teaching Assistant can be challenging, but watching students progress can also be extremely rewarding.
      • You will be learning from highly skilled teachers, experts in their field as well as innovators in digital education.
