KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning, preparing, and presenting engaging and inspiring art lessons aligned with the curriculum.
Creating a nurturing and well-organised teaching environment that promotes curiosity, creativity and active participation.
Motivating and supporting children to develop artistic skills, creativity, and confidence.
Producing high-quality teaching resources that enhance learning experiences.
Assessing, recording, and reporting on children’s progress, including setting and marking assessments and writing report comments.
Reflecting on and continually refining teaching practice to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development, both individually and within the school community.
Communicating professionally and timeously with parents, responding to emails and telephone messages within 24 hours.
Upholding professional standards with regard to punctuality, conduct, and quality of work.
Attending school events, meetings and special occasions as required by the Head.
Demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the ethos and values of Reddam House.
Undertaking any other reasonable duties as determined by the School Head or line manager.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
A minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience with young learners in an Early Learning or Primary School setting.
Confident and proficient in the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Formal art education or professional experience in the visual arts.
Previous experience teaching very young learners.
Knowledge of, or experience with, the Reggio Emilia approach.
A university degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Visual Arts, Education with Art specialization).
