Storeman (I) – (Raw Material And Packaging) at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Check that raw packaging items are received in good order, namely packing/raw materials/containers are in good order; raw/packaging material is clearly labelled; materials received tie up to the purchase order.
• Collect documentation associated with receipt of raw/packaging materials and send to the Team Leader Stores.
• Check raw/packaging materials receipts and sign delivery documents.
• Complete the goods received register.
• Code raw materials on receipt of goods.
• Ensure that raw/packaging materials are stored in their designated areas.
• Assist Team Leader Stores to maintain good housekeeping standards as per laid down standards.
• Carry out and check weighing of raw material receipts and labels.
• Ensure that sub-standard materials are isolated.
• Physically weigh off raw material issues according to job cards for the various production plants.
• Label containers containing part quantities of raw materials.
• Sign off job cards after issuing.
• Keep scales clean and in good working condition.
• Issue additional raw materials and samples when required.
• Assist with the offloading of bulk containers and assist with despatch of empty deposit containers.
• Assist Team Leader Stores with the control of pallet stocks.
• Required to drive a forklift and Reach Truck and to maintain medical fitness to drive both a forklift and Reach Truck in order to successfully renew relevant driver’s licenses.
• Receive bulk liquid stock whilst following laid down procedures.
• Assist with stocktake requirements.
• Report delays to Team Leader Stores.
• Ensure correct raw or packaging materials are despatched to the relevant Toll Formulator and outsourced packing contractor and ensure raw and packaging materials are immobilised in a safe way on a pallet so as not to create any safety issues when transporting product.
• Identify correct raw and packaging materials being received and ensure correct in-house product code is being applied.
• Store picked raw or packaging materials in a safe way on a pallet so as not to create any safety issues when transporting product to the plants.
• Assist Team Leader Stores in the day to day running of the Stores as and when required.
• On occasion is required to carry out miscellaneous legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as instructed by the Team Leader Stores.
• Required to conform to relevant SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Minimum education Grade 12.
• Must possess a sound knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems standards/requirements.
• Must be computer literate with basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)  would be advantageous
• Must possess basic analytical skills (arithmetic with accuracy).
• Must be medically fit to drive a forklift and a reach truck and be in possession of the relevant valid license.
• Required to maintain medical fitness to drive a forklift and reach truck in order to successfully have the relevant license renewed.
• Minimum of 3 month’s relevant experience in Production and items allied thereto.
