    Strategic Sourcing EM Synthesis

    Impact assessment:

    • As Strategic Sourcing External Manufacturing Synthesis at Corteva, you will be responsible for the procurement strategy implementation, managing sourcing contracts and activities related to External Manufacturing Synthesis category (Active Ingredients and Advanced Raw Materials), ensuring alignment with Corteva’s overall market approach.
    • This role requires expertise in Contract Manufacturing and demonstrated capabilities in contract negotiation and value chain knowledge of chemicals. This role involves implementation of External Manufacturing category strategies, negotiation, draft and preparation of contract agreements, and overseeing Strategic Sourcing for external manufacturing sources of supply, as well as supporting the Regional Teams in the Execution of contractual obligations.
    • You will be reporting to the External Manufacturing Synthesis Category Leader.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Negotiate, prepare and execute supply agreements for the category by: (1) understanding implications of contract language, collecting demand forecast from each business, (2) understanding quality and supply chain impacts, (3) understanding industry supply/demand dynamics, labor/market rates, energy costs/trends and applying to sourcing strategies, (4) understanding regulatory drivers which are key to the supply chain and (5) understanding price history and future cost drivers.
    • Drive RFI/RFQ/RFP activities, cost savings efforts, risk reduction initiatives, and enhance capabilities tied to the category.
    • Identify contractual risks and issues within the category well as propose alternative solutions.
    • Ensure performance meets cost, quality and delivery targets.

    • Track all documents and contract changes and participate in contract negotiations with the regional team when needed.
    • Lead the process of analyzing cost drivers, contract issues to identify and eliminate risks and optimize value for the company.
    • Analyze cost breakdown and supplier contractual terms and conditions and recommend innovative approaches to contract requirements, obligations and risk exposures in alignment with the category strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with company policy for all contractual processes and keep internal procurement tools updated.
    • Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders to understand and analyze needs, identify supply alternatives and select reliable global suppliers to optimize quality and cost of products and services procured.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives

    Qualifications and education requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Experience in procuring direct materials and contract manufacturing is required.
    • 10+ years of experience in direct procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
    • Strong knowledge of sourcing and logistics best practices, policies and legal contracting.
    • Experience and knowledge of chemical markets (specifically ag synthesis would be a plus) and drafting and executing commercial supply Agreements in support of business needs.
    • Strategic thinking capability and extensive negotiations experience.
    • Strong influence skills and team building skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to generate savings and benefits.
    • High ethical standards.
    • Ability to work in a highly Matrixed Organization.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
