Supervisor, Operations, Road Logistics - Bloemfontein at DSV

Main Purpose of The Role:

• Do daily spot checks in accordance to the SOP.
• All aspects of running the operation.
• Meeting all deadlines.
• Responsible for initiating and implementing performance management and controlling staff.
• Problem solving and system analysis.
• Administrative duties.
• Client liaison.
• Operational and routing decisions, vehicle and cost control.
• Drive cost saving.
• Protect and control company assets.

Minimum Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent time management.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience within the Road environment.
• Sound geographical knowledge of South Africa.
• Leadership skills.
• Punctuality and good time management skills are essential.
• Client empathy and ability to liaise effectively with clients.
• Be prepared to undergo random polygraph and surveillance examinations.
• Disposition to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
• Self – motivated and disciplined.
• Able to lead, be pro-active and take initiative when required.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Excellent e-mail and telephone etiquette.
• Be prepared to undergo credit and criminal checks.

Qualifications:

• Matric (essential).
• Elective:
• Sound geographical knowledge of the Free state.

Computer packages:

• MS office (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word): Basic 
• Blujay TMS: Basic

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage staff attendance and morale.
• Manage the branch department KPIs.
• Manage staff and freight processes and pay attention to details.
• Debriefing of drivers.
• Escalation of incidents and issues.
• Ensure integrity of freight is observed.
• Make sure that all deadlines are met.
• Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety rules are adhered to.
• Ensure that housekeeping is always practiced.
• Satellite Vehicle Movement Monitoring.
• Weekly reporting on vehicle condition.
• Daily reporting on fuel consumption.
