Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Trade test/ Three year Diploma in Civil Engineering/Water and Sanitation
• Trade test certificate
• 3-5- years' relevant experience
• Ability to read water layout plans
• Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Valid Code EB drivers licence

Key Performance Areas

• Monitoring and supervising activities of the staff to ensure that the work done is performed according to the work plan, job-cards and ad-hoc instructions received from superior and report on activities performed.
• Maintenance of all pumps and machinery at all treatment plants and pump stations
• Monitoring and supervising utilisation, application and maintenance of machinery, equipment, tools and material to ensure optimal work performance
• Maintaining and constructing water distribution infrastructure to ensure effective and efficient control over the operation
• Ensure transportation of machinery, equipment and people to and from the workplace
• Communicating with the immediate superior, detailing nature and extent of problem or deviations in operations.
• Supporting specialist personnel during the maintenance or repair process.
• Commencing with activating the flow process, opening valves to pre-determined limits, checking repaired areas for leaks, removing mechanical plugs/ sandbags to return flow to the system.
• Allocating materials to reporting staff to enable completion of work
• Monitoring utilisation and application of materials by observation to limit misuse and waste
