Job Description    

• The purpose of the role is to manage, provide support to the Purchasing Lead and in collaboration with QA Manager ensure suppliers comply with the Group Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) requirements. Represent the organization in conducting supplier audits while building professional relationships with suppliers

Required Skills    

• National Diploma/Degree in Food Technology/Biotechnology/ Food Science
• ISO/FSSC 22000 Auditing certificate
• 4-5 years’ experience in food safety management, including food safety auditing.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is essential
• Computer literate in microsoft packages
• Excellent Planning and Problem-solving skills
• Good Time Management & Analytical skills
• Excellent presentation skills and Excel
• Customer Orientated
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Pro-active and the ability to take own initiative

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Management of the SQA process for suppliers of: Raw Materials, Ingredients, Sub-contracted products, Packaging Materials, Measuring Equipment and Indirect Spend.
• Develop and maintain a supplier database in accordance to Group SQA procedure
• Request, review and maintain up to date/accurate documentation for existing suppliers. Approval of new suppliers.
• Carry out supplier criticality & vulnerability and risk assessments and analyse data for supplier rating.
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers.
• Drive improvements through management of deviations for supplied materials and reduction thereof
• Conduct supplier facility audits as per schedule
• Supplier Performance Management – to ensure Quality standards in product manufacture by thirds party service providers meets the standards required
• Carry out annual supplier performance assessments for all suppliers
