    Supply Chain Director

    Job Description    

    • The Supply Chain Director - SA leads the supply chain function for the SA business through the management of all input products into restaurants and groceries and all associated elements. This role develops and monitors implementation of the Supply Chain Management Strategy and operation within Nando’s - SA which effectively integrates suppliers, warehousing, and distribution so that products are sourced and distributed at the right quantities, to the right locations, and at the right time, whilst satisfying service level requirements and meeting cost parameters. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Honours BCom / Supply Chain Management Diploma
    • Drivers license and own vehicle
    • 8+ years as a Supply Chain Director within a similar environment

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Supply Chain SA strategy design, implementation and execution

    • Designs, implements and maintains the Supply Chain – SA strategy as aligned to the Nandos’ strategy
    • Oversees the building and execution of strategic initiatives related to the full supply value chain
    • Sets the strategy for the different segments of the Supply Chain and ensures they are implemented as aligned to the overall strategy
    • Set the vision, strategic direction, expectations, annual and long-term objectives for supply chain operations. 
    • Manages results to realise increased revenue through effective cost management
    • Identify, monitor and be responsible for Supply Chain Risk Management by developing of action plans to mitigate, insure against or otherwise address risks within the discipline

    Product sourcing and development

    • Researches the market to identify the right quality products, at the right price to supply across restaurants and groceries
    • Manages the full supply portfolio including food, beverages, operating equipment, clothing etc.
    • Supports new product development by providing cost and supply options
    • Supports new launches of products by planning and overseeing the full supply value chain for both restaurants and groceries
    • Supports and enhances the changing lives program through effective management of the preferred suppliers list to support BBBEE, local producers and small business development
    • Support marketing and brand plans through effectively sourcing the right products, at the right price

    Supplier Management

    • Sources suppliers and negotiates contracts including pricing negotiations and delivery SLAs for the procurement of goods both locally and internationally
    • Set standards and strategy to source and procure raw materials and transport facilities both locally and internationally Procure both externally and internally
    • Defines the supplier selection framework and oversees the end to end RFP/RFI/RFQ process
    • Reviews and signs off on contracts 

    Oversight and management of manufacturing and distribution

    • Provides suppliers and manufacturers with volume requirements to ensure correct supply of required product at the right time
    • Reviews supply demand trends and forecasts and manages demand planning across the 350+ product requirements and suppliers
    • Investigates any demand management issues and implements mitigation plans

    Revenue management and growth

    • Oversee the full supply chain budget and manage costs
    • Review and monitor all input costs to support profit margins through the sale of products to restaurants at a competitive price
    • Monitors and manages revenue by sourcing of product below inflation at the right cost, quality and with the best service offering encouraging individuals to successfully achieve goals and objectives.

    • The ability to exchange information and ideas in a clear and concise manner. Communicates thoughts in a structured manner to explain, persuade, convince and influence others to achieve the desired outcomes.
