Supply Chain Management Practitioner, Ref No. POCS 06/2024 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose    

• The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a Supply Chain Management (SCM) service inclusive of Logistic Management support.

Minimum Requirements    

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant/related experience in Supply Chain Management.

Recommendation    

• A valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas    

• Render a logistic support service inter alia coordinates and process requisitioning for goods and services; Administer the safekeeping and distribution of goods; Coordinate the control of stock Inventory/DisposaI of stock inventory/monitor bincards/discrepancies; Peform Logis system control functions; Liaise with Provincial Treasury User Support relating to system queries and User Accounts; Administer process of payments; Supervisory functions. 

Competencies    

• Knowledge of the following: Financial norms and standards, (Public Finance Management Act -PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions/Directives; Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management systems such as LOGIS; Logistic Management; Procurement best practices including sourcing strategies and different mechanisms for procurement; Procurement policies and procedures. Skills in the following: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word Excel, PowerPoint); Communication skills (written and verbal); Conflict Management; Planning and organising; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
