    Supply Chain Master Data Lead

    Purpose of Role

    • The Supply Chain Master Data Lead is responsible for maintaining, governing, and optimising master data structures within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain ecosystem. The role places strong emphasis on robust data governance across key domains, including trade and purchase agreements, vendor onboarding, procurement, vendor master, inventory, and logistics data. In addition, the role provides general administrative and functional support to business process owners and serves as a central liaison between Supply Chain, Legal, and other key stakeholders across the Tharisa Group.

    Role Context

    Master Data Management

    • Ensure data integrity across integrated systems.
    • Establish and enforce master data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies. (Item Masters, Vendor Master, Storage Locations, Bin Structures, Procurement Data, and logistics attributes).
    • Maintain, validate, and update supply chain master data within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and governance compliance across all master data domains.
    • Manage vendors master data creation, amendments, and deactivation.
    • Maintain item masters, product categories, storage dimensions, units of measure, and related inventory and logistics data.
    • Oversee the creation and administration of trade and purchase agreements. 

    Data Governance & Compliance

    • Implement and enforce master data governance standards, policies, and change controls records.
    • Conduct regular data quality audits and resolve anomalies or inconsistencies.
    • Ensure alignment with procurement, finance, legal, and operational governance requirements.
    • Support internal and external audit processes relating to SCM data.

    Vendor Onboarding & Supplier Data Administration

    • Coordinate and administer the end-to-end vendor onboarding process.
    • Validate supplier documentation, risk classifications, in line with internal controls.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and Legal to maintain compliant supplier records.

    Systems & Process Support

    • Act as the primary interface between SCM functional users and IT/ERP support teams.
    • Support D365 configuration, enhancements, user acceptance testing, and change management activities.
    • Assist business process owners with troubleshooting data-related issues.
    • Work with IT and vendor partners to support data integrations (API, ETL, middleware).
    • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and testing cycles.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved data quality.

     Administrative & Operational Support

    • Maintain master data registers, workflow documentation.
    • Support reporting requirements by ensuring accurate and timely data updates.
    • Prepare dashboards or summary reports reflecting data quality, trends, and governance performance.
    • Assist with pre-contract co-ordination and drafting of purchase / trade agreements.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

    • Engage with Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and IT to ensure data alignment and consistency.
    • Deliver training, documentation, and user guidance on data structures, processes, and workflows.
    • Support change management initiatives for new processes and data governance enhancements.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects requiring master data expertise, including process optimisation and ERP enhancements.

    Job Requirements
    Qualifications:

    • National Senior Certificate  (Matric)
    • NQF6 Qualifications in Supply Chain Management, or related Degree.
    • CIP Level 5 or CSCP

    Certifications:

    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain certification (advantageous).

    Job-specific experience:

    • 3+ years working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations, Supply Chain, or Asset Management modules).
    • Experience in master data management, data modelling, or data governance.
    • Building relationships with vendors
    • Vendor On-Boarding and Master Data Governance.
    • Strong understanding of plant operations, engineering data, asset hierarchies, and maintenance concepts.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and configure Dynamics workflows, data entities, and business rules.
    • Experience in pre-contracts and vendor master data governance.
    • Strong understanding of the Mining Charter Inclusive procurement & BBBEE Code of Good Practice.
