    Surgical Equipment Manager

    About the job

    The Surgical Equipment Manager will have the role to convey superior performance of Alcon Phaco equipment. Deep Phaco equipment expertise as opportunity to gain trust, build relationship & door opener for consumable/IOL pull-through & upgrade. The main responsibility will be for the sales and promotion of our cataract product portfolio (Centurion, Phaco related accessories).

    In addition, the SEM will be responsible for maintaining and growing Alcon sales and posterior segment market share whilst continuously improving the relationship of Alcon with VitRet specialists and key decision makers.

    Major Accountabilities

    • Sales and market share responsibility across Alcon’s cataract equipment portfolio.
    • Sales and market share responsibility across the VitRet product portfolio.
    • Drive equipment penetration and upgrades in target customers.
    • Cross – functional support.
    • Consistently act in accordance with SOPs and medical device regulatory environment.
    • QA/Pharmaco vigilance.

    Requirements

    • Min. three (3) years sales force experience in medical devices, preferably in ophthalmology
    • Tender management experience
    • Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques and trends
    • “Hunter” (customer lead and opportunity-seeking) mindset with ability to work in highly competitive environments, focusing on demos and conversion of competitive accounts
    • Strong business and selling acumen
    • Excellent communication skills, both technically and interpersonally
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated autonomy and ability to travel up to 90 % to customer sites in the assigned region; valid driver license and passport
