Actively support investment teams to implement high quality integration of climate, nature and other environmental related themes, and support engagement with companies on these issues
Develop and run associated training sessions with investment and client teams
Provide insights on risks, opportunities and trends relevant to climate, nature and transition investing to support alpha generation and delivering outcomes for clients
Work with the risk function to develop and enhance quality and availability of data and tools to assess climate, transition and nature risk and impacts
Work with investment teams to deliver mandates and products with a particular focus on a climate and nature objectives – this will include training for investment teams and supporting their framework development & implementation
Undertake regular client engagements, including client teach-ins, door-opener meetings and helping position existing strategies
Represent Ninety One across a range of environmental / sustainability related industry bodies and initiatives including but not limited to IIGCC, CDP, TPI, CA100, SBTI etc. This will include participation in a range of external panels with clients and other industry participants
Support and contribute to firmwide content and messaging around climate change and nature. Communicate with press where needed on relevant issues.
Contribute to key internal governance forums including the sustainability committee and the sustainable investment advisory forum (SIAF)
Support RFP and specialised reporting expectations
You should consider applying if you have:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in investment or ESG analysis, with a focus on environmental issues, including climate risk
Experience of investment and climate related issues in relation to different asset classes, and a range of high risk / impact sectors (e.g. energy; transport; agriculture; industrials; infrastructure)
Familiarity with technical issues including scenario analysis, emissions accounting and ESG data collection and analysis
Strong technical aptitude with proven ability to quickly grasp complex concepts that will include physical risk assessments and clean tech and engineering solutions
Strong analytical, project management, coordination, and organisation skills, with proven ability to prioritise
A high comfort level leading and driving knowledge development within investment teams and client group
Strong interpersonal skills
Skilled at conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences
Confident and effective public speaker who is adept at presenting and interacting with clients and industry bodies
Experience with emerging markets is particularly valuable
