System Administrator: Identity Management at Stellenbosch University

Duties/Pligte        

• Involved in the day-to-day operation of the Identity Management system which involves ensuring that the right people have access to the appropriate services and data for the correct reasons for the applicable period.
• Assisting user support with IDM challenges.
• Implementing and maintaining Identity Management logic as required by changing business needs.
• Finding innovative solutions to problems.
• Maintaining system and data integrity.
• Creating and maintaining system documentation. 

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes        

• NQF Level 6 qualification (e.g. diploma or advanced certificate) with at least four years' relevant experience
• OR NQF Level 5 qualification (e.g. higher certificate or N6) with at least five years' relevant experience
• OR NQF Level 4 qualification (Matric) with at least six years' relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
• Programming or system administration experience.
• The ability to solve problems independently and innovatively.
• Proven analytical skills.
• A high level of accuracy.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans or English.
• The ability to work in a team as well as independently.
• Excellent interpersonal relationships. 

Recommendation/Aanbeveling        

• Any other IT-related industry qualifications.       
• Sound knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and system maintenance.       
• Programming experience.       
• Sound knowledge of database principles and administration (SQL).       
• PowerShell Scripting development and debugging experience.       
• Knowledge of, and experience with identity and access management systems.       
• Knowledge of structured directories and directory protocols (Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, LDAP, etc.).       
• Knowledge of authentication systems (SSO, SAML, etc.).       
• Knowledge of SailPoint identity management systems.       
• Knowledge of NetIQ/Micro Focus identity management systems.
