About The Role

• As a Systems Engineer L2, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure. You will manage, monitor, and support our server and virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You’ll work closely with L1 teams for escalations and collaborate with senior engineers on automation, patching, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, implementing efficient solutions, and contributing to the stability and security of critical systems.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience in Windows and/or Linux server administration
• Exposure to VMware or other virtualization platforms
• Experience with Active Directory, monitoring tools, and patch management
• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Control-M, Morpheus) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Client-focused, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Linux) will be advantageous

Education (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology

Knowledge and Experience
Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience  as a Systems Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in server/storage administration and administration and IT operational support capacity 
• Experience with server/storage equipment and technologies.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools, troubleshooting methodologies, and incident management.

Knowledge:

• Sound understanding of networks, security, virtualization, hardware, cloud and systems development processes.
• (Windows/Linux) Server & storage systems administration
