• Unitrans is seeking a dynamic and experienced System Lead – Ancillary Fleet Technology (AFT) to champion the successful implementation and ongoing management of AFT processes and systems across our operations. This pivotal role ensures the seamless integration of technology solutions, with a strong focus on service-provider management, system performance, and cross-functional collaboration.
• As the AFT System Lead, you'll take ownership of both the strategic and operational aspects of our ancillary fleet technologies—from driving implementation to managing post-deployment performance. Your ability to navigate complex systems, lead projects, and align with business and user needs will be key to your success.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Deep understanding of operational systems, preferably in the transport or logistics sector.
• Experience in implementing and supporting technology platforms.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across multiple teams and disciplines.
• Strong commercial acument to engage with the support from the Procurement team in negotions.

Required qualification and experience:

• Three years or more in a simlar role
• Minimum qualification: Bachelors Degree / NQF Level 7

Duties & Responsibilities    
What You’ll Do:

• Oversee the rollout and adoption of AFT systems across the business.
• Manage relationships with key service providers to ensure optimal service delivery and support.
• Collaborate with operational, technical, and product teams to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Lead post-implementation support, improvements, and system governance.
• Translate user requirements into actionable solutions with product owners.
• Managing the Service Level Agreements with the vendors.
• Report AFT performance to the relevant structures, e.g Operations and Exco. 

Detailed Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the implementation of AFT systems, including process design, testing, training, and deployment.
• Work closely with the various departments to ensure that all systems are properly integrated and maintained.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and customer service, to identify areas for improvement and ensure that new systems and processes meet the needs of the business.
• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of AFT systems to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the business and making the necessary adjustments as required.
• Provide or arrange training and support to end-users to ensure that they can effectively use the new systems and processes.
• Place product owners to manage system maintenance and user requirements and expectations.
• Ensure that the AFT systems are meeting the service level agreements set out by the business.
• Manage the performance of the product owners and ensure that they are delivering against business objectives.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for AFT systems.
