    System Support Specialist

    Description of the role and purpose of the job: The System Support Specialist is responsible for taking functional ownership of business systems and acting as the subject matter expert to business process owners and system users. The role includes business support escalation in accordance to agreed service level agreements, including incident, change, problem management and incident analysis reporting.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Resolve calls logged by users for queries, errors and other problems experienced on the system.
    • System functionality testing
    • Ensure that all Enterprise System Module daily checks are performed so information is up-to-date and daily processing by end users can continue.
    • Log all issues received from internal clients on Service Now.
    • Keep all call tickets updated as work progresses each day
    • Report trending issues to Technical lead.
    • Identify root cause on Business-Critical Application issues.

    Skills and attributes required for the role:

    Skills:

    • BCom Info Systems degree or similar qualification.
    • 3 to 5 years working experience supporting/extending ERP/Enterprise Business systems (Oracle) as a Business Systems Support Specialist
    • Product vendor training on some key modules
    • Knowledge base user training
    • Diploma in Business Analysis a plus

    Personal attributes:

    • Must be very detail orientated understanding that tasks are only done once all steps have been effectively completed
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to clearly articulate points and address concerns in meetings with various stakeholders.
    • Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Confident in reconciling numerical differences when checking the accuracy of solutions before deployment
    • Technology savvy

    Minimum requirements to apply for the role (including qualifications and experience):
