Ensure the reliability and stability of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) while defining functional requirements for future enhancements. Act as a key partner to the business by providing the analytical data and support necessary for effective planning and execution of WMS support.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the bridge between the Distribution Centre Operators and the business.
Extracting and analyzing WMS data to provide insights into inventory accuracy, operational tasks, conformance to SOP, and throughput reports.
Manage system configuration and enhancement requirements to match changing Distribution Centre processes and layouts.
Providing support to the warehouse users to resolve hardware and software issues.
Testing new features to ensure they work in a complex warehouse environment before going live.
Identifying where the current WMS falls short of business needs and documenting the functional requirements for upgrades.
Working with software providers and development teams to translate warehouse requirements into technical and integration specifications.
Analyzing physical warehouse movements to suggest system automated solutions that save time or reduce errors.
Presenting technical insights to business leaders to help them make informed decisions on capital investments.
Support the project team through providing guidance on new or enhanced processes through understanding the system capabilities
Ensure the correct level of urgency is applied to the prioritised support tickets and projects
Leverage AI capabilities to improve and enhance daily operations and reporting
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology,Information Systems or similar
Above average computer literacy: Excel, Google tools, Gemini
Experience of Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., SAP EWM , Manhattan, Blue Yonder or Oracle)
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes in inventory management and key stock statuses through the Supply Chain process
Understanding of SQL and Python queries to troubleshoot data discrepancies, run custom reports and analyze system performance
Basic knowledge of SQL and Python coding language to understand the extent of system development requirements when doing sprint planning and discussing system changes with software developers
Knowledge of how the WMS integrates with other systems, such as an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or WCS (Warehouse Control Systems) via EDI, API, or Flat Files.
Familiarity with the peripherals equipment of the warehouse (RF scanners, label printers, Voice-Picking headsets and automated conveyor interfaces).
