Systems Analyst - Sandton at Catch

Key responsibilities:

• Assist product owners and developers in gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Support the analysis, scoping, and testing of new features and system enhancements.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across systems and tools.
• Collaborate with the IT and development teams to deliver new functionality within the VAT IT ecosystem.
• Conduct testing and quality assurance on new features and updates.
• Provide user support and training for newly deployed tools or features.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct data-oriented tasks including querying databases, making data updates, and working with APIs to support business operations and reporting.

Candidate requirements:

Qualifications & Experience•=

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience & Skills

• Highly analytical mindset, with the ability to assess impact at a system and business level.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience writing SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, or analysis (advantageous).
• Comfort working with REST APIs — reading documentation, testing endpoints, and interpreting responses (advantageous).
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to support analysis, drafting, or problem-solving (advantageous).
• Understanding of data structures and the ability to make controlled data updates in back-end systems (advantageous).
