We have a vacancy for a Systems Engineer – Estimator to Cost estimating of engineered solutions for Automation systems . The successful candidate will be a dynamic, ambitious self-starter with a passion for customer service.
Minimum Requirements
Tertiary qualification – Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (Optional)
Tertiary qualification – Estimation or costing (Advantageous)
Matric with mathematics
Knowledge of Pneumatics and automation technologies i.e. Robotics, PLC, Drives, servos etd
High level computer and Excel working knowledge
MicroSoft Office proficiency i.e. Excel and Word
2 years experience in a relevant design environment
Duties and Responsibilities
Read and translate Bills of Materials into costing tools.
Sources suppliers and optimize pricing for BOM items.
Have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
Generate accurate and complete costings for automation systems.
High level of computer literacy.
Support production and project manager during procurement and manufacturing
Update costing sheets with Bills of Material revisions during project realisation
Support installation and commissioning teams during project realization
Update project technical files with costing revisions.
Communicate with the customer on the scope of the project and specifications
Generation of quotation for customers’ requests
Support sales team with customer technical requests
