Systems Engineer at Valmet

As a System Specialist you will be responsible for technical support on Valmet DNA Hardware equipment and setting up software on various stations for assigned customers and internal service team in South Africa.

Essential part of the job is to provide support to our local service department with system hardware technical problems, as well as to end customers together with a local Service and Operations.
Your daily basis will include:
 

• General and specific technical support in all project execution phases
• Regular visits to customer sites to support with technical problems on Valmet DNA Platform
• Ensure satisfaction of installed-base customer
• Sales support for service and capital projects
• Full hardware audits on customer’s sites
• Check quotations with local service manager
• Check system layout during DCS FATs
• Product support to local engineers on new products
• Implement and support Valmet Network Topology in various mills
• Promote positive attitude
• Collaborate with all internal stakeholders and participates in team meetings

To succeed in this role, you will need:
 

• Degree or Higher National Diploma in light current or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on DNA Hardware
• Ability to work under pressure in different customer situations and in different cultural environments
• Self-managed, flexibility and ability to set your own daily and weekly priorities with the customer
• Good coordination skills in case of start-up/start-up supervision at site
• Passion for serving customers and for collaborating with your colleagues
• Passion for applying world-class technology to our customers benefit
• Fluent in English. Other languages are plus
• A valid driving license and willingness to travel
