Systems Manager at PEP

DEPARTMENT: Commercial 

An exciting opportunity for a Systems Manager exists in our Commercial Systems team at Pep’s central office (Parow Industria, Cape Town). 

As the successful incumbent, you will lead a team of business and data analysts to support the commercial systems strategy in close collaboration with the Operational, Process and IT teams. 

As the Systems Manager, you will be responsible to manage a complex systems environment supporting the roadmaps of the existing in-house system as well as the planning, design, and implementation of new developments and changes to business processes and technology. An innovative approach to incorporate new business channels and integrate solutions with the wider commercial systems environment will be imperative. 

As the incumbent, you have the opportunity to learn and understand business processes, increase your knowledge and understanding of a large, complex and successful retail company with the ability to scale quickly. 

ROLE OVERVIEW 

• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business, IT and operations, including vendors where appropriate 
• Work closely with business and data analysts in the wider PEP systems environment. 
• Ensure administrative and governance standards are applied (includes process mapping, scoping, specifications and all related documentation) 
• Manage the demand intake process for new requirements, including facilitating prioritisation 
• Manage IT & Systems capacity, budget and spending 
• Manage development and deployment cycles for system changes taking into account operational peaks and related systems’ milestones 
• Monitor, track and report appropriate system performance through key KPIs 
• Facilitation of workshops 
• Selection and motivation of suitable implementation methodologies (waterfall, agile) 
• Drive the continuous evolution of new ways of work and support team member development 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE 

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree 
• Senior Management experience 
• Experience and knowledge of agile implementation methodologies 
• Extensive experience in systems and processes preferably in financial services, digital channels, logistics or e-commerce environment 
• Have a passion for technology solutions and display a deep customer orientation and understanding of the formal retail market and the Fintech industry 
• Retail experience will be an advantage 
• Competencies required: Strong leadership skills, Presentation & Facilitation skills, Attention to detail, sound business acumen, good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, learning agility, resourcefulness, results-driven, self-motivator
