Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Diploma in Tax or equivalent
• Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in Tax Compliance and Reporting in a Corporate environment

Advantageous:

• Post Graduate Qualification in Tax or equivalent
• Retail experience and working with multiple entities

Job Specification…

Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare and submit income tax and provisional tax returns calculations and supporting schedules.
• Perform calculation of deferred tax for annual financial disclosures.
• Ensure compliance with the Revenue Authority.
• Review Value Added Tax calculations and supporting documents.
• Prepare output tax reasonability and apportionment ratio calculations.
• Review and submit VAT verification and Customs Tax.
• Prepare and submit dividend withholding tax return.
• Accurately calculate capital gains tax.
• Review of Income tax calculations for foreign entities.

Stakeholder Liaison:

• Effective correspondence with the Revenue Authority on objections, dispute resolution, audits and other matters.
• Liaise with Dis-Chem internal stakeholders such as finance, SAP, Payroll.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide requested information during audits.
• Engage with internal stakeholders e.g, Bookkeepers to assist with VAT queries and draft correspondence.

General:

• Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
