Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA), Teaching & Learning Assistant (TLA), Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or a Learning Support Assistant (LSA)?

We are currently looking for experienced and qualified Teaching Assistants for day to day and short/long term support roles within our partnership Cheshire East secondary schools. Academics proudly work with an assortment of secondary schools and therefore we have different requirements to suit.

We have had a strong record of placing many of our qualified Teaching Assistants into permanent work following a successful period of long term supply within our secondary schools.

Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Supporting the teacher with the delivery of the lesson.

• Preparing the classroom for lessons, such as setting up equipment.

• Managing behaviour and engaging students with their own learning.

• Working with students either one to one or in small groups out of the classroom.

• Committed to support both the teacher and the students to succeed.

For this role, candidates who apply will have:

• A minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (Supporting Teaching and Learning) or a minimum of 1 years work experience/employment as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting (you must be able to provide recent references).

• Confident communication skills and to be a motivator in the classroom (1-2-1 or small group support).

• Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to support learners in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Key Stage 5 experience would be desirably, but not essential for this role.

• A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).
