Qualification and Experience

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
- Post investment and portfolio monitoring and management of allocated portfolio of complex, technical and/or high value Business Partners.
- Ensure proper handover of Business Partners from the respective SBU is completed and all key priority and risk arears are discussed during the handover meetings.

- Work closely with large Business Partners in identifying areas for growth and value creation and monitoring the implementation of the value creation strategy of the investee companies.
- Collate and analyse Business Partner performance data to develop a high-level Value Creation Plan, assess Business Partner performance relative to Value Creation Plan and identify when additional support is required.
- Ensure that monitoring and counselling services are provided on Value Creation levers in accordance with the Value Creation Plans and that Business Partners meet the contractual and underwriting obligations.
- Identify strategic data to be collected from Business Partners to actively monitor and evaluate the implementation of such strategic initiatives.
- To provide continuous technical guidance to fellow team members in all key areas of their responsibilities.
- Prepare and present credit submissions (amendments, condonations, restructurings etc.) to the relevant credit committees.
- To ensure that all necessary amendments and approvals required during the life span of the Business Partner are timeously and adequately executed and ensuring that the Business Partners meets contractual obligations and follows up if Business Partners are in breach.
- To ensure that all exit processes and other calculations on allocated portfolio of Business Partners are properly executed, working closely with e.g. Corporate Treasury and Financial Management Depts and other support departments.
- To monitor and timeously report on undrawn facilities on the allocated portfolio of Business Partners (where applicable), including the collection of data that is to be captured by the back office.
- To promptly monitor all payments due to IDC including interest, capital, dividends, fees etc. on allocated portfolio of Business Partners.

Job Description
- Partner with Strategic Business Units and the Client Support & Growth Division to support early client assessment, bringing diverse expertise to evaluate credit risk and investments in line with the IDC mandate.
- To provide value-added advisory during early-stage assessments and due diligence by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies aligned with risk appetite frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Credit and Investment risk assessments within the organisation through:
- Participate in Basic Assessments and Due Diligence investigations with the Strategic Business Units and Client Support & Growth Division and provide guidance and advisory support on risks to be assumed, mitigating factors and assessing viability of applications.
- Provide appropriate guidance and support during deal development and structuring phases and act as a sounding board throughout the credit on-boarding process.

- In collaboration with the Legal Services Department seek the adoption of a consistent approach in the drafting of standardised finance documentation across Group Counterparties as appropriate to ensure adoption of consistent credit terms. Ensuring that the terms and conditions of credit committee approvals are well documented and executed in the legal agreements and draw documents.
- Work with the deal team and Legal Services Department to ensure deal closure post Committee approval and support applications requiring waivers and/or changes of approved credit and investment terms, as and when necessary.
- Ability to address and be solution oriented on issues within the disciplines of the credit management cycle, including ensuring that annual reviews are undertaken and risk grades updated.
- Participate in the disbursement processes of approved IDC funding and provide independent credit sign-off.
- Attending and participating in Credit Investment Committees and Exco meetings to present the credit risk view.
- Proactive management of credit and investment risk by conducting regular credit reviews on investments, identifying early warning signals and implementing interventions to minimize risk and financial losses; valuation of equity investments and review of impairment, restructuring of investments that are in financial distress.

Synopsis
- The Compliance Monitoring Specialist (“Monitoring Specialist”) will be working within the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Department of the IDC and will be carrying out compliance monitoring reviews to ensure that business is meeting its regulatory obligations and compliance risks are mitigated.
- The monitoring specialist is required to complete high quality monitoring reviews from planning to reporting, to contribute to the implementation of the CRAD’s compliance monitoring methodology and processes, and to ensure that IDC and all its subsidiaries are conducting business in accordance with applicable pieces of legislation and regulations and relevant codes and standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop a risk based annual compliance monitoring plan to ensure coverage of key compliance risks across IDC and subsidiaries for board approval. Work with the Compliance Manager to regularly assess the relevance and focus of the Compliance Monitoring Plan
- Execute the board approved compliance monitoring plan and ensure that monitoring reviews are strategic and structural to deliver the required level of assurance within the agreed timelines as per the compliance monitoring schedule.
- Implement the CRAD’s annual compliance monitoring plan by performing complex monitoring reviews, producing quality compliance monitoring results and providing compliance advice and guidance to business to achieve regulatory compliance outcomes.
- Develop and implement the Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs) and perform compliance monitoring reviews by doing the following:

- Undertaking thorough process, system and business walkthroughs and applying best practice sampling mechanisms to form a reasonable assurance view

- To provide assurance to the board and relevant sub-committees on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and systems developed by business, including adherence to regulatory requirements.

- Provide timely communication on the results of compliance monitoring reviews to SBUs/Departments, and management as and when the identified gaps are confirmed, present and submit these monitoring reports to relevant stakeholders in line with the requirements of the CRAD monitoring process and plan.
- Develop and monitor the issue log/tracker to ensure the information is accurate, valid and supported by factual evidence and manage record-keeping of all review documentation in the relevant SharePoint folders. Take ownership for reporting issues raised during reviews to ensure effective resolution of issues within agreed timeframes.
- Provide independent compliance advisory services through the development of recommendations for improvements to controls and processes, which will ensure adherence to legislative requirements and mitigation of regulatory risks.
- Continuously develop and improve the monitoring methodology and overall approach to conducting monitoring reviews and stay abreast of relevant trends and typologies to utilize this information to inform the IDC Compliance Monitoring Framework.
- Pro-actively engage with stakeholders at all levels and build collaborative, effective relationships across the business and other assurance providers to contribute effectively to the execution of reviews and enhance knowledge and understanding of the IDC business operations.
