    Team Lead (Cloud Infrastructure)

    Purpose of the Job    

    • To lead the Cloud Solutions Infrastructure team (Engineering Branch). Communicating and managing goals, deadlines and priorities.
    • Manage critical incidents and drive the collaboration necessary for problem resolution, root cause analysis and improvements.
    • Optimize team performance via conflict resolution, assessments, training, motivation, tools and innovation. Assists the Team Manager with planning, roadmaps, budget and procurement.

    Job Objectives    
    1. Managing team workload and issues:

    • Drive problem resolution and root cause analysis of incidents. To be available at all times, within reason, for escalations and to escalate issues in turn where necessary.
    • Ensure that tickets raised in the ticketing system are assigned to team members and attended within SLA.
    • Log changes in the change control system, obtain approval and drive deployment.
    • Assign, track and ensure delivery within a reasonable time frame for Project work within the team.
    • Prioritise the various work items assigned to the team according to management needs and criticality.
    • Ensure that deadlines are met or reasonable notice is given, when missing a deadline is unavoidable.
    • Conduct Team Meetings to track workload, communicate management needs and share information.

    2. Planning:

    • Assist the Team Manager with creating and tracking roadmaps for the team
    • Plan ahead and budget for data centre and team expenses.
    • Assist the Team Manager in the procurement of hardware, software, training and other expenses in the team.
    • Track and manage premier cases

    3. Reporting:

    • Keep the Team Manager informed of issues and critical incidents.
    • Announce the start, completion and success or failure status of changes to the appropriate audience.
    • Keep project managers informed of the progress of any project work the team is conducting.
    • Attend Team Manager's weekly meeting.
    • Log and update important work and information in the Team Managers weekly report.

    4. Managing team performance and development:

    • Identify and book the training and certification the team requires to perform their duties
    • Conduct appraisals with team members twice a year to assess performance, highlight improvement areas and develop improvement plans where necessary.
    • Motivate team members and resolve conflict

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 (Matric) with relevant IT certification
    • Industry Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • Industry Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

    Experience    

    • 5+ years operations experience in a high- availability environment
    • 2+ years experience leading a production infrastructure engineering team
    • 2+ years Technical project experience in an IT Infrastructure environment
    • 5+ years Extensive experience with Cloud Technologies
    • 5+ years Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain
    • 5+ years Proven history of incident response, diagnostic activities, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action
    • Plans, and advanced troubleshooting
    • 5+ years Experience with Microsoft and AWS Public Clouds
    • 3+ years Experience in documenting environment and processes

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and related services architecture design and implementation
    • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS protocols, firewall, load-balancing technologies, and firewalls.
    • Strong knowledge of different cloud technologies and offerings
    • Sounds knowledge of DevOps and DevOps technologies
