Team Leader: STP Vostro and Local ZAR Payments at Capitec Bank

Purpose Statement

• To lead and oversee the team responsible for the administration, authorisation and control of short term payments (STP), Vostro payments and all local Rand payments.
• To ensure the effective and timeous execution of all local payment instructions and journal entries received, adhering to all internal policies and procedures, thereby delivering efficient and effective customer service.

Experience
Minimum:

• 5 years’ experience in general banking, of which 3 years should be in a Payment Processing environment.
• Leadership experience
• Query resolution
• Reporting

Ideal:

• People management experience 

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting - Management Accounting or Finance

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant degree in Accounting - Management Accounting or Finance

Knowledge
Minimum:

• Team leadership principles
• Client service delivery 
• Operations management 
• Compliance with relevant policies, procedures & legislation (like POPIA and FATF) including SA Reserve Exchange Control regulations, SWIFT standards, cut-off times, etc.
• Relevant knowledge of clearing systems and rulings
• Understand basic Accounting and Reconciliation concepts (understand entries and be able to do simple account reconciliations) 

Ideal:

• Working knowledge of Capitec’s systems, structure and infrastructure 
• Knowledge of fraud modus operandi
