Tech Officer: Data Science at BCX

Core Description

Responsible to participate in data science projects, and lead some initiatives therein, solving a variety of use cases for BCX and its clients. You will be involved in employing and evolving data science tools and frameworks across on-prem and cloud data infrastructure. Your core responsibility will involve utilizing emerging Data Science frameworks and tools like SQL, Python, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc), as well as ML and AI, to support the team in resolving identified challenges.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

• Perform data analysis on diverse set of data.
• Build insightful data visualisations.
• Train and deploy machine learning models.
• Provide data and model driven insight to stakeholders.
• Write projects and analytics documentation.
• Build and maintain positive and value-adding relationships with relevant internal or external stakeholders.
• Participate in the establishment and institutionalization of data use processes, to optimize the time in the information to decision cycle.

Minimum Qualifications

• NQF 4: Grade 12 National Diploma
• Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage
• NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in Mathematics or Statistics

Experience

• 2 years relevant work experience in the data science environment.
