    Tech Officer: Systems Engineer (East London - Port Elizabeth)

    Core Description

    Responsible for managing and supporting customer technical solutions. Provides general technical support on customer systems under guidance of technical specialists. Operates closely with associated infrastructure service teams to meet SLA’s and resolve problems.  

    Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

    • Support, maintain and manage the technical aspects of a managed solution and ensure contracted service level agreements are met
    • Plan, coordinate and implement system changes within client specified change windows. Liaise with the clients, vendors and other partners to ensure minimal disruption to the client's day-to-day business operations
    • Contribute to the overall team effectiveness through technical contributions, customer focus and teamwork.
    • Maintain technical infrastructure standards and procedures 
    • Drive a proactive culture to reduce common causes of operational problems.
    • Administration of client server environment as well as maintain and support the operating systems.
    • Understand SCCM/WSUS implementation.
    • Monitoring, routine health checks and support of servers (hardware, hypervisors and software)
    • Pro-active support and maintenance of client environment
    • Support and troubleshooting of client environment
    • Setup and configuration of Windows Server OS
    • Maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows Server OS
    • Maintenance and troubleshooting of VMWare

    • NQF 4: Grade 12

    Experience

    • Windows Server 2012/16/19, 2 years’ experience 
    • VMWare 5.5 and up, 2 years’ experience
    • Server Hardware, 2 years’ experience
    • Networking experience, 2 years’ experience
    • Microsoft O365, 2 years’ experience
    • Microsoft Active Directory, 2 years’ experience
    • Mimecast, 2 years’ experience

    Certifications / Professional Registration

    • ITIL Foundation v3/v4 (optional)
    • VMware VCP
    • Microsoft Certifications 2
    • Hardware Certifications 2

    Special Requirements/ Employment Condition

    • After hours call out (stand by)
    • Valid Drivers license
