• Clover is looking for a Technical Advisor: Fleet to provide technical advice and support in terms of Fleet management with various suppliers. This posotion is based at Clover Head Office in Roodepoort. 

Requirements    

• National Diploma
• Business English: Fluent
• Computer literacy (Intermediate)
• Motor vehicle license
• Travel off-site/ overnight stay
• Experience in working with senior management
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Perform fleet audits
• Perform annual admin and technical audit per depot        
• Conduct ad hoc audits for follow up on poor performance        
• Report and propose corrective measures to management        
• Share results with depots and maintenance service provider (Flexi Fleet)        
• Provide technical advisory services
• Analyse and advise rebill quotations from service provider        
• Take part in dispute solving meetings        
• Coordinate truck maintenance repairs        
• Investigate major component failures        
• Analyse and advise on technical forum initiatives        
• Develop and advise ito driver training programs for new technology and operational techniques
• Do technical inspections (Tankers and Refrigerated units)
• Approve refleet trucks to agreed Clover standard (new vehicle releases)        
• Approve quotation for all trucks from service provider and sign off (old vehicle acceptances)        
• Ensure acceptable standards are applied by service providers/load body builders        
• Supervise manufacturing of new models and combinations as per Clover and dairy specifications        
• Investigate and report on accidents
• Investigate major accidents - loss of life is nearby        
• Compile accident reports        
• Propose preventative measures        
• Ensure accuracy of repair quotation         
• Ensure repairs are aligned with Clover standards        
• Keep record of all investigations for possible 3rd party claims against Clover
• Ensure legislative compliance        
• Archive updated legislation / LexisNexis        
• Advise on transport legislation relating to technical specifications, axle weight limits, fire extinguishers etc.        
• Ensure truck modifications comply with legislation
