    Technical Advisor: Psychosocial Support X 4

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Programme implementation

    • Support the implementation of the Anova overall HIV programme, as outlined in the project workplan, according to the stipulated timelines.
    • Oversee the implementation of Child and adolescent disclosure and adherence support within facilities as required.
    • Provide adherence support for patients at high risk of treatment failure, through Direct Service Delivery (DSD) where needed.
    • Provide enhanced adherence support as part of team managing paediatric and adolescents patients failing 2nd line of ART.
    • Support DOH/Anova counsellors and clinicians to conduct case-finding at adult and paediatric ART sites.
    • Ensuring that all activities implemented are of a high quality.
    • Identification of problem areas of the activities of the programme and finding effective solutions to these challenges.

    Capacity Building

    • Identify training needs within the Anova team and at supported facilities.
    • Facilitate capacity building for the child and adolescent disclosure and adherence support, within the Anova team as well as at facility level
    • Support and mentor the Counsellors/Community Workers on overall enhanced adherence support.
    • Capacitate DOH Social Workers at facility level, on NAS, I ACT, and enhanced adherence support.
    • Maintain database and administration aspects of any trainings/support session done.
    • Responsible for coaching & mentoring DoH Auxiliary Workers and counsellors on psychosocial support for PLHIV & enhanced adherence support.
    • Coordinate community partner collaboration
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Support project buy-in at facility and district level.
    • Collaborate with Anova partnering organisations like Nacosa.
    • Form part of Anova teams and be actively involved in activities that support the 959595 & overall Anova strategy.
    • Strengthen referral linkages within the health system, especially between health facilities and CBOs, in collaboration with DoH community teams, Anova community-based partners and team members in Anova and DOH staff.
    • Build relationships and coordinate activities with facility based DOH psychosocial team members & other relevant developmental partners supporting the programme.
    • Attend stakeholder meetings including the facility/sub-district management meetings.
    • Give feedback to DOH and other relevant stakeholders on Anova’s support in project and represent Anova at all levels in the sub-district and district.
    • Administration and Reporting
    • Compile monthly & adhoc reports on the programme implementation and progress. Submit these timeously as per agreed timelines.
    • Manage day to day activities and HR requirements of team members and follow performance management process of team members.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Degree in Social work, Social Science or relevant health related qualification.
    • Registration with the relevant South African Council for Social Services Professions or Professional Body
    • At least 5 years of experience working in Paediatric and/or HIV programmes, including supervising Social Auxiliary workers or other junior staff
    • Training in I-ACT and NAS (National Adherence Strategy) and KidzAlive
