    Technical Expert Maintenance

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Stable production – ensure that downtime is kept below target
    • Carry out electrical / electronic / mechanical repairs & improvements and generate reports
    • Development of Apprentices and other staff
    • Maintain high Safety, Health and Environmental standards (zero injuries)
    • Time and Attendance adherence
    • Resolve Breakdown situations timeously and implement countermeasures
    • Spare parts management
    • Support relevant departments
    • Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime, shutdown activities, callout, and standby as and when required
    • Participation in Projects, member development, cost and environmental Kaizen activities
    • Attend to legal compliance activities

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • N5 Qualification plus Trade Test - Electrical or Millwright or both with 5 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment OR
    • National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in repairs & fault-finding
    • Experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
    • Must be computer literate
    • Good PLC and robotics knowledge with experience
    • Experience in Various welding techniques
    • Knowledge of OHS Act/ Plant compliance
    • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and production time checks
    • Relevant Weld Plant experience would be advantageous
