    Technical IT Project Manager TCA

    KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Reporting to the Senior Manager IT Projects, with support functions to CEO, CTO and other departments of Toyota Connected Africa (TCA), the incumbent will be responsible for driving the delivery of technology projects in key areas within in the MyToyota regional expansion project.  The candidate must possess very strong technical, networking and relationship building skills. This position forms part of the Toyota Connected Africa technical team and is based in Johannesburg.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Support the management of activities relating to software development teams.
    • Ensure that the correct support is available for the gathering of user requirements for project delivery.
    • Sets attainable goals for project delivery and ensure that these goals are communicated to the stakeholder community. Similarly, the progress towards completion of project activities should be tracked and reported on the same community.
    • Provide guidance to team members to encourage work productivity.
    • Ensure that the project timeline is followed by the software development team and assist with issue and risk mitigation activities that threaten the development progress.
    • Manage multiple projects at once.
    • Represents the company and project in software department, executive and stakeholder meetings, and assume responsibility for reporting on progress and project statuses in the appropriate meetings.
    • Ensure that the appropriate procedures, methodology and processes are followed when it comes to software development
    • Ensure that the documentation of design plans (Architectural and UX) is performed.
    • Ensure that the software requirements are appropriately documented, stored, tracked and measured.
    • Ensure that the appropriate testing approach and methodology is implemented, documented and tracked.
    • Monitor and report on the status of the software development progress in line with the methodology implemented and stakeholder requirements.
    • Participate in other areas of the software development lifecycle as the project demands.
    • Build relationships and establish strong communication channels with both local partners and Toyota Connected companies relating to the G-DCM project.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • NQF 6 level qualification (360 credits - level 8 framework) in Information Technology and/or a qualification in the Project Management field (Agile or SDLC) would be highly advantageous.
    • 5+ years of experience in the delivery of scalable enterprise software within the IT space.
    • 2+ years of managing teams within a development organization

    Exposure and practical experience with:

    • Project management
    • Data Management and Data Analysis
    • User Interfaces
    • Integration Methodologies and Frameworks

    Exposure to delivering IT projects with programming languages such as

    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • SQL
    • .NET
    • PHP
    • ASP
