Technical Services Manager at Busamed

Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of risks related to Hospital Technical infrastructure and assets related to all plants and equipment. The critical outputs will include:

• Ensure compliance with Busamed Engineering policy standards, relevant legislation, and OSH Act
• Effective facilities management
• Effective quality systems management
• Participate in and/or identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and resource utilization
• Monitor that maintenance is being executed timeously and according to agreed standards
• Identify, together with Group Procurement, applicable services, and service providers
• Ensure local contractors meet the requirements of Busamed Group
• Drive and monitor conformance to SLA, identify gaps and implement corrective action
• Maintain productive relationships with internal customers through regular meetings and effective communication
• Effective people management
• Demonstrate visible leadership in respect of Busamed values, operating model and strategy and actively sponsor company initiatives
• Participate in budgeting process and monitor performance against budget
• Plan, agree and implement financial expenditure with Hospital Management
• Ensure customer satisfaction surveys a r e conducted on a regular basis and ensure requirements/complaints are identified and managed appropriately
• Ensure external stakeholders conform to agreed quality standards and drive conformance to relevant Health & Safety legislation.
• Prepare for and participate in various audits
• Effective management of the asset management system as per Hospital Engineering protocols
• Be willing to perform standby duties and respond to call outs
• Must have own reliable transport

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
• Mechanical Artisan Trade Qualification Preferable Plant & Machinery Field
• National Trade certification or equivalent qualification

Work Experience

• Experience within, and understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
• Previous exposure to planned maintenance, budgets, and financial control
• Previous management experience and/or qualifications would be an advantage
• Customer service orientated with high working standards
• Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in building maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry
• Ability to carry out basic electrical fault finding
• Experience in clinical engineering within hospital industry will be advantageous

Knowledge

• Computer Literacy essential
• Fluent communication in English essential
• Solid understanding of Asset Management Systems
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations
