Technician: Instrument (Umkomaas ) at Sappi

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Techinician: Instrument to provide high level technical support to the instrument maintenance department, specifically relating to plant optimization and fault diagnosis in order to maximize the availability of the plant.

As a Techinician: Instrument, you will be responsible for:

• Maintain DCS System and configuration
• Interpret P&ID, Instruments and Electrical drawings
• Fault – finding of Instrument loops
• Troubleshoot system peripherals that constitute the DCS system
• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul and calibrate a wide variety of industrial process instrumentation, electrochemical sensors
• Work closely with and providing technical support to the maintenance Foreman and Artisans
• Work on minor projects and plant modifications in respective Plant sections
• Maintain system backups for the section

What are we looking for?

• NQF6 qualification (S4 National Diploma)
• Minimum of 2 years industrial experience
• Supervisory experience will be advantageous
