Temp Mathematics Teacher (Grades 4–7) – Senior Phase Qualified at Radley Private School

About the role

• As our Grades 4–7 Mathematics educator, you'll play a key role in developing strong mathematical foundations, building learners' confidence, and nurturing a genuine enthusiasm for mathematics.
• We are looking for a Senior Phase-qualified Mathematics teacher who is passionate about making mathematics engaging, accessible, and relevant. You'll help learners develop essential numeracy, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills while preparing them for the increasing academic demands of higher grades.
• At Radley, we believe mathematics is about more than getting the right answer – it's about teaching learners how to think, reason, question, and solve problems independently.

Your responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics to Grades 4–7, aligned with the school's curriculum and IEB assessment approach
• Plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that develop mathematical understanding and confidence
• Build strong foundations in numeracy, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, data handling, and mathematical reasoning
• Use creative and innovative teaching methods to make mathematical concepts accessible and relevant to everyday life
• Develop learners' critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and independent problem-solving abilities
• Identify learning gaps early and provide differentiated support to learners with varying abilities
• Design and administer meaningful assessments, monitor learner progress, and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare learners for the mathematical demands of the Senior Phase and beyond
• Create a positive, nurturing, and disciplined classroom environment where learners feel confident to ask questions and learn from mistakes
• Collaborate with a forward-thinking academic team to continuously improve teaching and learning
• Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and coaching

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education (BEd) with a Senior Phase Mathematics specialization – non-negotiable
• Permanent SACE registration – non-negotiable
• 3+ years of Mathematics teaching experience, preferably with experience teaching Grades 4–7 in an IEB school environment
• Strong mathematical content knowledge and a thorough understanding of age-appropriate teaching methodologies
• Experience in curriculum planning, assessment design, and differentiated instruction
• Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly, creatively, and in ways that build learner confidence
• Passionate about developing mathematical understanding rather than relying solely on memorisation and repetitive procedures
• Committed to helping learners develop independence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards mathematics
• Comfortable working in a small, high-impact, innovation-driven school environment

Why you'll love working at Radley

• A deliberately small, calm, purpose-driven school environment where you can build meaningful learner-teacher relationships
• The opportunity to make a genuine difference in learners' mathematical foundations and confidence
• Be part of a pioneering educational model focused on developing future-ready skills
• Ongoing mentorship and professional development in both entrepreneurship and education
• The opportunity to bring creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving into mathematics education
• A collaborative, supportive team that values continuous improvement, curiosity, and a passion for teaching
