Test Analyst (Contractor - Manual) (6668) at Allan Gray Proprietary Limited

Job Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities 

• Mitigate quality risks by understanding business requirements and defining appropriate test approach 
• Estimate test effort, extract test conditions, define test scenarios & identify test data 
• Perform manual front-end testing of applications which includes functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing. 
• Collaborate closely with business analysts and developers, identifying, logging, retesting and verifying defects in a defect tracking system. 
• Get involved in IT release activities which may involve testing and availability on some weekends when releases go live. 

Production Support 

• Assist in production support issues and queries 
• Communicate progress, status and resolution to all relevant parties with a sufficient level of detail and explanation 
• Determine the importance and priority of problems and requests raised 
• Ensure that professionalism is maintained in all verbal interactions and written communications 
• Follow the prescribed defect management and deployment process 
• Liaise with ITOps and other Domains for support to resolve or assist with fixes 
• Handle and action adhoc requests for data updates and data extracts 
• Continuous improvement initiatives specifically with regard to quality and performance 

Due to the change nature of the environment 

• Candidate should be comfortable with a fair amount of unpredictability in daily tasks  
• Display confidence to resolve issues and overcome obstacles, comfortably engaging with others to assimilate information

Qualification

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. BComm, B Bus Science, preference to Accounting, Mathematics, Economics and Statistics) with strong academic performance 4 years related experience
